Subject: Urgent Appeal for Compensation: Lost BNC Assets Due to Unclear Network Labeling (MEXC to XT.com)

Dear BNC Community and Project Team,
I am writing to formally appeal for compensation regarding a significant loss of my BNC assets due to critical ambiguities in network labeling between MEXC and XT.com exchanges. This incident has caused me direct financial harm, and I believe the circumstances warrant a review and compensation from the project team.
Details of the Incident:
On 2025-03-19 09:59:06 (UTC), I initiated a withdrawal of BNC from my MEXC account with the intent to deposit it into my XT.com account.

  • MEXC Withdrawal: On the MEXC withdrawal screen for BNC, I selected the network option simply labeled "BNC." It was not explicitly stated that this option corresponded to the Kusama network.
  • XT.com Deposit: On the XT.com deposit screen for BNC, the deposit network was also labeled simply as "BNC," providing the following deposit address:
    12zQPQU36ZafwedzUGHYbPWAEhyUxw5mZ5r8HZRVieAxWeSf
  • The Error and Loss: Believing that "BNC" on both exchanges referred to the same compatible network, I sent my BNC. However, the BNC I withdrew from MEXC was on the Kusama network, while XT.com's "BNC" deposit address is for the Polkadot network. Despite the similar address format, my funds were sent to the incorrect blockchain and are now inaccessible.
  • Transaction Proof: The transaction can be verified on the Kusama explorer via this link:
    https://bifrost-kusama.subscan.io/extrinsic/0xb172ce175c47592bb3de5fc83a8fc0f9b8d054dbc66b58ae8a669c4ea155d06e
  • XT.com's Denial: XT.com has denied my request for a refund, stating that the funds were sent on the wrong network. While I acknowledge the importance of user vigilance, the identical "BNC" labeling on both platforms for different underlying networks created an unavoidable point of confusion that directly led to this loss.
Why Compensation is Justified in My Case:
My asset loss is a direct consequence of misleading and inconsistent network labeling by exchanges supporting the BNC token.
  • Lack of Clarity from Exchanges: Neither MEXC nor XT.com clearly specified the underlying blockchain (Kusama vs. Polkadot) for their respective "BNC" network options at the time of my transaction. This ambiguity is a critical oversight by the platforms.
  • Identical Naming, Different Networks: The use of "BNC" to represent different networks on two major exchanges, combined with similar address formats, created a trap for users like myself. It is reasonable for a user to assume that identically named networks would be compatible.
  • Project Team's Role: While exchanges are independent, the BNC project team has a vested interest in ensuring a safe and clear user experience for its token. This includes advocating for consistent and explicit network labeling ("BNC (Kusama)", "BNC (Polkadot)") across all integrated exchanges to prevent such costly errors. My incident highlights a failure in this consistency that ultimately impacts the BNC community.
    My Appeal:
I respectfully request that the BNC project team reviews my specific case. I believe that due to the ambiguous and confusing network labeling by the exchanges where BNC is traded, I am an innocent party who has suffered a direct financial loss.
I urge the team to consider providing me with compensation for the BNC tokens lost in this transaction. This would not only rectify my individual loss but also demonstrate the BNC team's commitment to supporting its users and promoting a more secure ecosystem for the token.
I am available to provide any further information or documentation required to assist in your review.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this critical matter.
    Sincerely,
    SAIFUL

I fully support this! the XT exchange BNC deposit network is poorly labelled and causes deception.
